Global Security and Crisis Management The Global Security and Crisis Management (GlobeSec) Unit provides scientific and technical support to EU policies concerned with Global Security and Crisis Management, particularly in the following dimensions: i) Prevention, ii) Preparedness, iii) Response and iv) Recovery.

The Unit’s mission is supported by four institutional actions: CRITECH, ISFEREA OPTIMA and SITAFS. The Unit also addresses the multi-faceted and complex problems relating to the above mentioned EU policies by supplementing its in-house capabilities and capacities through involving the wider EU R&D community. The Unit achieves this through participating in the relevant instruments of the 7th Framework programme including GMES and the European Security Research Programme.
